1. Wall (11-4)

With nine defensive starters back from a state semifinal run, the Hawks will be prepping for December football once again in 2017. Tackle leader LB Lucas Garcia returns after tallying 145 tackles and recording two sacks. QB Brock Rosenquist and RB Tymber Carr will be engineering the high-powered offense once.

  1. Sonora (12-2)

With a regional final run in 2016, the Broncos are under new leadership in Jeff Cordell after David Sine steps down. Fomer Andrews Mustang Kaden Cordell will be returning after a 4,148 all-purpose yards and 59 TDs to his name.

  1. Reagan County (9-2)

The Owls, coming off a playoff appearance in 2016, will rely on the experience at the linebacker position defensively, returning four starters. RB/LB Nathan DeLeon will be one of the key players on both sides of the ball alongside RB Samuel Goodloe.

  1. Christoval (8-2)

A team that stood out in their perfect run until falling to Ozona, Christoval will be losing experience, returning four starters on both sides of the ball. QB/LB Seth Wilkins will be pivotal on the defensive side but will be expanding to the quarterback position.

  1. San Angelo Grape Creek (6-4)

With graduating most of the experience linemen and returning all of their skill players, Grape Creek will be an interesting team to watch under new coach Justin Mueller. QB Austin Barron, who tallied 1,115 passing, 2,106 rushing and 32 TDs in a playoff appearance in 2016. Defensively, WR/DB Seth Mitchell, DB Jesse Jio and DL Nino Huerta will be the leaders defensively.
